Former Mustang caps college career with another honor

Recent Yale University graduate Natalie Wedell not only earned a degree from the Ivy League institution but did so while playing four seasons of Division I hockey. Last week, Wedell was honored for her academic prowess one last time.

The East Coast Athletic Conference on July 3 released its women’s hockey all-academic team and Wedell was named for the fourth time.

An economics major, Wedell was joined on the all-academic team by 17 of her teammates. Wedell was one of six seniors on the team honored and she was one of four Bulldogs who were honored all four years they played at Yale.

Players are eligible for the all-academic team if they have a cumulative grade-point average or an average GPA for the past three semesters of at least 3.00.

Wedell appeared in 103 games over her four years and finished with one goal and four assists. In addition to playing hockey, Wedell was also a member of the Yale women’s track and field team as a thrower.
