Around 9:10 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, an unidentified man robbed the TCF Bank branch in the Cub Foods grocery store at Har Mar Mall, 2100 Snelling Ave. N. After implying he was armed with a weapon, the robber made off with an “undetermined amount of money,” according to a statement from the Roseville Police Department.

Witnesses say the suspect fled the area “in a northeastern direction.” Roseville Area High School is less than a mile from the TCF branch, so the school took “precautionary action” and went into lockdown, according to the release.

The police liaison officer at RAHS said the lockdown was in effect for fewer than 10 minutes.

Roseville police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are still searching for the suspect, who is described as a black male of medium height and build. He was reportedly wearing a dark-colored baseball hat, dark-colored North Face jacket, jeans and dark tennis shoes. Authorities said the suspect also had a blue umbrella that he was able to collapse and put in his pants.

Those with additional information about the suspect can call the Roseville Police Department at 651-792-7008 or leave an anonymous tip with Minnesota Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Information provided to law enforcement authorities leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect could result in a reward to the tipster, according to the release.
