RAHS golfer set to play in state tournament
The final week of the high school sports season in Minnesota is upon us and one athlete from Roseville Area High School is still playing.
Senior Sean Landkamer participates in the state golf tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids. A senior, Landkamer tees off Tuesday at 12:54 on the East Course.
Landkamer qualified for the state tournament thanks to his fourth-place finish in the individual standings at the Section 4AAA tournament on May 27 and 29 at Bunker Hills. Landkamer carded a two-day score of 152 to finish in a tie for fourth place with Cretin-Derham Hall’s Elias Weber.
White Bear Lake’s Mason Fiddle won the individual section title with a score of 145. White Bear also won the section team championship by four shots over runner-up Hill-Murray.
Landkamer is in the state tournament for the second time. He played in the 2012 state tournament as a member of the Roseville boys team that won the section title that year.
At the 2012 tournament, Landkamer shot a two-day score of 169 (Day one: 38-46 — 84; day two: 42-43 — 85). He finished in a three-way tie for 80th and posted the team’s fourth-best score. Also playing in the tournament that year for Roseville were Tony Tilleson, Robb Stautz, Tommy McCann and Andrew Paul.
