Best Ham Sandwich Ever
24 small Hawaiian sweet rolls
1 1/2 lbs. shaved ham (not honey ham)
12 slices of cheese (any kind)
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Use two 9 x 13 pans. Place bottom only of 12 rolls in each pan. Place two or more slices of ham on roll bottoms. Cut cheese slices into four parts. Place two slices on ham. Now put roll top on.
In saucepan, mix the remaining ingredients and cook until butter is melted. Brush the sauce on top of the rolls. Cover with foil. Let sit in refrigerator for 1 hour or overnight.
Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Note: Sometimes I use a mix of cheeses, like Swiss and cheddar or mozzarella and cheddar or Monterey Jack.
