Adult education at St. Michael’s

St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Roseville is offering education opportunities for adults in February. All sessions are free of charge and begin at 10 a.m. The church is located at 1660 West County Road B.

Feb. 7 — "Hold Me Tight — Key Conversations for Strengthening Relationships," with  Bev Stratton, MA ThD
Are you accessible, responsive, and emotionally engaged in your primary relationships? These “Hold Me Tight” ideas, and seven key conversations come from the evidence-based Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and apply to all close relationships between partners, friends and family members. Stratton is a member of St. Michael's and a licensed counselor at the MN Couple Therapy Center.

Feb. 14 — "Issues that Impinge on the Lives of Young Black Men," with Nekima Levy Pounds
Levy-Pounds is a lawyer, an associate professor of law at the University of St. Thomas, activist, writer and preacher. She was elected in 2015 to be the president of the Minneapolis chapter of the NAACP and also serves on, and has founded, a variety of organizations that focus on issues of racial equality and disparity in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. She is Minnesota Lawyer's 2015 Attorney of the Year. She will share what she has learned about the key issues that negatively impact the lives of young black men in our community.

Feb. 21 — "Brotherhood Brew - Creating Change, Transforming Lives"
Brotherhood Brew is an innovative social enterprise that provides comprehensive coffee services to businesses, non-profits, government offices, educational institutions and individuals in the Twin Cities and beyond. The proceeds from the sales of Brotherhood Brew provides participants with in-house employment opportunities and job skills.
