Residents shocked as masked burglars barge into their Inver Grove Heights home
At approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, Inver Grove Heights police responded to a home invasion report in the 8400 block of Bryce Court.
Responding officers were told that two masked male suspects, armed with firearms, pushed their way into the home, restrained the frightened residents and demanded money.
After the intruders collected money and other property, they fled.
Once the armed men exited the home, a family member was able to leave the residence and call 911. According to a police department statement, none of the residents were harmed during the incident.
Officers checked the house and searched the surrounding area for the suspects, but were not able to locate them.
The scene was processed for evidence, which will be examined as part of the investigation.
Based on information provided by the residents, police believe the home invasion was not a random act.
Interim Chief Sean Folmar said the suspects’ identity is unknown, and he was unable to share any additional information because the case is open and actively being investigated.
