Area students to travel to D.C.

courtesy of MNeverAgain • On March 14, students at Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights walked out of class as part of national walkouts to bring awareness about gun violence in school. For a select group of students, that’s not the end of their activism, though. After raising nearly $26,000, some 40-or-so Sibley students will be traveling to Washington, D.C., to participate in the March for Our Lives Rally on March 24. MNeverAgain, the group behind the trip, is the brainchild of Joe Campell, a 2001 Sibley alumnus, who decided to raise money to send students to the march. Ben Anderson, the Sibley student who runs the group’s website, said MNeverAgain members believe now is the time for sensible gun control.
