New Brighton Area Historical Society meeting presentation ‘The Twin City Arsenal’

The New Brighton Area Historical Society hosts the presentation ‘The Twin City Arsenal’ at the New Brighton Community Center on Thursday, April 26, at 2 p.m. Learn New Brighton’s role in World War II, what wartime sacrifices the city took and how this time transformed New Brighton. Spring Rose Brunch

The Spring Rose Brunch World Encounter Fundraiser, supporting microloans for women in Tanzania, Africa, is Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 Roselawn Ave. W. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at www.worldencounter.org/events. Brunch is served promptly at 10 a.m.

 

Lions Club waffle breakfast

The North Suburban Evening Lions Club is holding an all-the-waffles-you-can-eat breakfast on Sunday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Roseville Skating Center, 2661 Civic Center Drive. Sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice are also included. There will also be a cake walk and raffle. The cost is free for ages 5 and under and $8 for ages 6 and over. Ticket proceeds go to community projects. Old eyeglasses and hearing aids and their used batteries can be brought to this event.

 

RLC craft and bake sale

Roseville Lutheran Church is holding its annual craft and bake sale on Saturday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come support local crafters, local producers of honey and bee products, buy some baby quilts, drying mats, garden art and much more. Fresh baked breads, cookies and cakes will be featured, which are donated by church members and Boy Scout families. The church is located at 1215 Roselawn Ave. in Roseville.

 

Shoreview Community Garden Club host speaker

The Shoreview Community Garden Club will host horticulture consultant Mary Maguire Lerman’s presentation “The Prevention and Awareness of Lyme Disease in The Garden” at the Shoreview Community Center on Wednesday, May 2, starting at 7 p.m. The fee is $3. Boy Scout Troop 31 pancake breakfast

Boy Scout Troop 31, sponsored by the Rosetown American Legion Post 542, will be hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 6, from 8 a.m. to noon. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, eggs, milk, orange juice and coffee. Advance tickets are $6 or $7 at the door; kids age 5 and under eat free. Call Nirmala Lawrence at 612-216-4835 for advance tickets. Proceeds from the breakfast support the Boy Scouts by helping pay their way to camps, buying equipment and other troop-related activities. Rosetown Legion is located at 700 County Road C in Roseville.

 

Twin Cities Master’s Chorale concert

The Twin Cities Master’s Chorale will perform at North Heights Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcome. North Heights Lutheran Church is located at 1700 Highway 96 in Arden Hills. For more information call 651-797-7800.
