Wanted: Little Canada firefighters

Firefighters have a tough job. Firefighting is hard, dirty work. It is one of the most dangerous jobs in the United States, but the work is rewarding. Many people are grateful for what firefighters do.

The Little Canada Fire Department is currently accepting applications. You can download the application form on the city website, or stop by City Center to pick up a copy.  You will be applying to join the ranks of more than 30 dedicated firefighters who respond to an average of 20 fire calls per month. Although the Little Canada Fire Department is not a full-time career department, you will be trained as a professional and work like a professional.

 

To become a Little Canada firefighter, you must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet the physical and medical standards of the fire department. Your primary place of residence must be within 3.4 road miles of the fire station or your primary employer must be located in the City of Little Canada and allow you to respond to calls while working.

If you have firefighting experience or you work daytime hours in or near Little Canada and can respond to fire calls while at work — you are encouraged to apply. The city website is at www.ci.little-canada.mn.us; Civic Center is located at 515 Little Canada Road E.
