‘Fitness Fun in the Park’

Residents ages 50 and older can join the Oakdale Wellness 50+ team and walk the Oakdale Nature Preserve trails with a certified fitness instructor. Participants will learn how to safely do strength and flexibility building exercises using the park’s six new exercise stations. Fitness Fun in the Park will be Thursday, June 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Oakdale Nature Preserve, 4444 Hadley Ave. N. East Metro DFL Senior Caucus

The East Metro Senior Caucus meets on the second Thursday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at Sgt. Pepper’s Bar and Grill, 930 Helena Ave. N., Oakdale. Lunch is always on your own, but there are free door prize drawings. The next meeting is June 14, and the topic will be HIV and seniors. The speakers will be Duane Bandel and Annie Elmer.

 

White Bear, Minnesota: a railroad town

The White Bear Lake Area Historical Society is hosting a presentation Monday, June 25 at 6 p.m. on the evolution of rail transportation in White Bear Lake and the importance of White Bear to the railroads. The event will be held at the White Bear Lake Library, 2150 Second St., and is free and open to the public.

 

Fundraiser for Ramsey County Care Center

Friends and Families of Ramsey County Care Center will hold their annual fundraiser mini golf and picnic on Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Midwest Golf Dome, 1815 Van Dyke St. in Maplewood, at the corner of Ripley and White Bear avenues.Tickets are $8 each or two for $15. Tickets include a picnic lunch with the game of miniature golf. Car show benefit for Hoof Prints

Cops-n-Rodders is hosting a car show benefit for Hoof Prints on Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Common Ground Church, 10240 Stillwater Lane N., Lake Elmo. Hoof Prints provides community outreach for youth and adults to bond with horses and find healing in their lives as they work through life’s challenges. To feature a car in the show costs $10, and awards will be given to the top 10 vehicles and Best of Show dash plaques will be given to the first 50 vehicles. Twin Cities Live shines the spotlight on North St. Paul

Twin Cities Live, an entertainment television show produced by KSTP-TV, will air live from Neumann’s Bar and Grill in North St. Paul on June 21 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The show’s theme is food, fashion and fun, and for the week of June 18, the show will feature different things that make North St. Paul great. Then on June 21, residents will be able to join the show’s host, Elizabeth Ries, at Neumann’s Bar & Grill. It is free and no ticket is required.
