Arden Hills

Construction site burglary

Workers at a construction site in the 3800 block of Lexington Avenue told police June 8 that someone broke into an on-site trailer that had been secured with a padlock and stole some $10,000 worth of stuff, including a chainsaw, generator, laptop, a locator box and a sewer camera.

 

Falcon Heights

Crime of opportunity

A 41-year-old woman told police June 11 that an opportunistic prowler had rummaged through her unlocked car as it was parked in the 1700 block of Tatum Street, though the person only got away with some $3 in change.

 

Lauderdale

Arrest

A 26-year-old man stopped May 28 at Larpenteur Avenue and Highway 280 was arrested and cited for driving with a revoked license, no proof of insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Tobacco bust

A 40-year-old employee at the BP in the 2400 block of Larpenteur Avenue was cited May 30 for the sale of tobacco to a minor after he sold tobacco to a 16-year-old buyer during a tobacco compliance check.

 

Little Canada

Cart caper

There are few details, though employees at the ALDI in the 2300 block of Rice Street told police June 7 that a man had gotten away with stealing a cart full of groceries.

 

Mounds View

Arrest

Officers arrested a 22-year-old Pine City man June 6 following a chase that ended in Blaine. The man was seen driving a stolen vehicle near Mounds View Boulevard and County Road I. Police attempted to stop him but he drove off, then fled on foot before being arrested. He was arrested for fleeing police in a vehicle and on foot, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving with a revoked license and no proof of insurance.

 

Burglary

Someone broke into a home in the 7900 block of County Road I as reported the morning of June 5.

 

Disorderly conduct

Officers headed to the 7600 block of Woodlawn Drive the afternoon of June 7 on a report of a man trying to kick in a door. Paramedics took him to the hospital.

 

Gas, go, caught

A driver filled up their car at a gas station in the 2700 block of Mounds View Boulevard June 4 and then left without paying, but an officer tracked the person down and they returned to the gas station to pay for the petrol they’d pilfered.

 

Into the night

Officers attempted to stop a car in the area of Woodcrest and Longview drives just before midnight June 4 for an equipment violation. The vehicle fled, then stopped and the driver hopped out and ran off on foot. Police have the car but its driver got away and is now facing a number of charges, including criminal property damage and escaping an officer by fleeing.

 

Stolen plate, stolen car

A person who lives in the 2600 block of Scotland Court told police June 3 that someone had stolen a single license plate off their car. The next day, a report of a stolen car came out of the same block.

 

New Brighton

Endless bummer

A 22-year-old man told police June 11 he’s out two camping hammocks and a backpack, together worth $140, that he’d left in his unlocked car as it was parked in the 2200 block of Silver Lane. Someone stole the stuff overnight.

 

Lost fish finders

A 33-year-old man told police June 12 that someone had stolen four fish finder head units from his boat as it was parked in his driveway in the 2500 block of Eighth Street NW that afternoon, a loss of $5,400.

 

Shortchanged

A 43-year-old woman told police June 7 that she’d met a man at the McDonald’s in the 1100 block of Silver Lake Road that day to sell her iPhone 7 for $300. The man, who she’d linked up with over Craigslist, handed her $50, took the phone and ran to his car and sped off.

 

Shoreview

Asleep at the wheel ...

Deputies checking on a car parked in the 3400 block of Rice Street the morning of June 7 found a 32-year-old South St. Paul man sleeping in the vehicle. He must have been searched, because he was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine and a pipe.

 

Crime of taste

A man sampling rosé wines the evening of June 9 at the Kowalski’s Market in the 400 block of Highway 96 must have had other top-shelf tastes because he stuck two bottles of Grey Goose vodka and one of Patrón tequila in his windbreaker and took off, not paying for the $149 worth of booze.

 

St. Anthony

Crazy at Culver’s

Police received a report of disorderly men or boys at the Culver’s in the 4000 block of Silver Lake Road June 3. They tracked the people down, and ID’d them as two 16-year-old boys, an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old man. All were banned from the restaurant and officers called the 16-year-olds’ parents.

 

DWI

Officers arrested a 40-year-old Minneapolis man June 6 at 37th Avenue and Highcrest Road for third-degree DWI and giving false information to police. He blew a .17 blood alcohol concentration and was booked at the Hennepin County Jail.

 

Hit and run

A 32-year-old woman told police May 28 she was involved in a hit and run accident at 37th Avenue and Belden Drive. She got the license plate number of the car that drove off, and though police checked the area and failed to locate the vehicle, officers determined the driver was a 22-year-old man and sent him a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.

 

Seen in the act

A 52-year-old man told police June 1 that he left his bike unlocked at Central Park in the 3300 block of Silver Lake Road to go play catch with his son. As he returned to the bike, he watched as an unknown man rode off on it, a $1,200 loss.

 

Stolen van

A 60-year-old man reported May 31 the theft of his 1999 Dodge van from the 2500 block of Pahl Avenue. The vehicle is worth an estimated $1,000.

 

Theft

Security at the Cub Foods in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road caught a 69-year-old man attempting to steal $452.90 worth of groceries June 3 and had the man in custody for police. Officers determined the man had previously been banned from the store, so he was cited for misdemeanor theft and trespassing.

 

Roseville

Disorderly conduct at Saint Rose?

A May 21 Roseville police blotter item about a report of disorderly conduct at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic School raised reader questions about what was going. Per the Roseville Police Department, someone called the police around 8:45 p.m. to report a group of four or five teenage boys throwing a ball at a school wall. An officer checked it out but did not file a report.
