Summer Playhouse

The Summer Playhouse will stop by with a new family-friendly show at 9:30 a.m. and noon at Harmon Park, 230 Bernard St. W., West St. Paul, July 16. Shows last roughly 30 minutes.

 

Bibliobop

Have fun with books and music from the library’s collection with DJ Ms. Donell from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., July 16. Open to kids ages 2 to 8, this will be at the West St. Paul Library, 199 Wentworth Ave. E.

 

Stop motion animation

Work in small groups and learn how to make your own stop motion video one frame at a time. Registration is required for this session on July 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. Open to kids ages 8 to 14, this will be at the South St. Paul Library, 106 Third Ave. N. Call 651-554-3240 for more information.  

 

Food Truck Day

The second Food Truck Day in Inver Grove Heights will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at Veterans Memorial Community Center, 8055 Barbara Ave. The events take place the third Wednesday of each month through September. Comedy improvisation

On July 18, explore the nature of comedy, slapstick and joke telling, and creating on your feet while building characters through improvisation. Build confidence in your ideas and expand your collaborative listening skills. Presented by SteppingStone Theatre, registration is required. This is intended for kids ages 10 to 16. Slip-N-Slide day

Southview Park, 275 Westview Drive, in West St. Paul is hosting Southview Park Wednesday Activities this summer. July 18 is Slip-N-Slide Day from 1 to 3 p.m. Each week there will be free youth and parent activities including arts and crafts, sports activities and more. West St. Paul police will be there this week, as well as representatives from different organizations. 

 

Retro Board Game Night

Join others for an evening with friends to play treasured games from the past. There will be a variety of games, including Parcheesi, Pictionary, Clue, Battleship, Candy Land, Mystery Date, Scrabble, and a few others. Pre-registration isn’t required but appreciated. Delicious beverages and snacks will be provided. Game night will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., July 19, at Thompson Park Activity Center, 1200 Stassen Lane, West St. Paul. The cost is $5. Goin’ Buggy with BugBots

Use all sorts of scraps, recycled materials and more create your own BugBot inspired by millions of the Earth’s insects. Presented by ArtStart, this is for kids ages 6 to12. A Minnesota Legacy program sponsored by Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, it will run from 10 a.m. to noon July 19, at the South St. Paul Library, 106 Third Ave. N.

 

Summer STEAM

Join the West St. Paul Library, 199 Wentworth Ave. E, on July 19, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., to explore a fun new STEAM activity around paddle boats and create a unique science-inspired project. Registration is required. This is for kids ages 10 to 16. Call 651-554-6800 for more information.
