Community Day 

Lake Elmo Bank is hosting its annual Community Day from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7. The celebration will include roasted corn on the cob, grilled hot dogs, ice cream and bingo at the Lake Elmo Office parking lot.  Kids who attend can enjoy a petting zoo and pony rides.

 

STEM Saturdays: BeeBots.

Participants of this event, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to noon, will learn sequencing, an important part of coding, while teaching BeeBots to run obstacle courses at Oakdale Library, 1010 Heron Ave. N. If time allows, participants will also learn the basics of the Scientific Method as they are challenged to guess how much weight the BeeBots can pull. This program is designed for children ages 8-12. POW/MIA candle light march

The Arthur O. Haukland VFW Post 1350 is hosting a POW/MIA candle light march Thursday, Sept. 6, in honor and remembrance of United States prisoners of war and those still missing in action. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at 2483 E. Seventh Ave., North St. Paul, and all area residents are invited to participate. After assembling in front of the VFW Post, the group will walk three blocks to Veterans Memorial Park for a short ceremony. For more information call Paul Hendrickson at 651-738-3435.

 

Hoof Prints car show benefit

The rain date for the Hoof Prints car show benefit has been scheduled for Sept. 8. The car show, hosted by Cops-n-Rodders will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Common Ground Church, 10240 Stillwater Lane N. in Lake Elmo. To enter a car costs $10, but spectators get in for free. Awards will be given for the top 10 cars and Best of Showdash plaques will be given to the first 50 cars. There will also be raffles and door prizes. Money from the benefit will go to Hoof Prints, which provides community outreach for youth and adults find healing as they bond with horses.

 

Casting Call for Donors

To help support the need for blood around the Labor Day holiday, Memorial Blood Centers is offering all presenting donors from Sept. 1-8 the opportunity to win Hamilton tickets! Simply present to donate at any blood drive or donor center to be entered into the drawing. Visit www.mbc.org/THEATER. While walk-in donors are always welcome, we encourage appointments be made in advance. To register for blood drive, go online to the Memorial Blood Center website or contact the sponsoring organization directly.
