Prodigal car in Arden Hills

Leave it all unlocked

A 65-year-old man told police the morning of Sept. 9 that someone entered his unlocked garage in the 3200 block of Snelling Avenue and stole $20 from his unlocked car; it’s also likely the prowler rode off on the bike that was stolen from the garage.

Joy ride

Police attempted to stop a car going 75 in a 50-mile-per-hour zone on Highway 280 near Larpenteur Avenue Sept. 1, but the car fled. Officers eventually watched it stop at a dead end and everybody inside got out and ran. Police were able to catch up with two of the three passengers — both were 14-year-old boys. When their parents came to pick them up, the mother of the boy who was driving was told he would be charged with felony fleeing the police, driving without a license, reckless driving and speeding. The other boy was also released to his parents.

Throwing food

A 41-year-old man told officers his 54-year-old neighbor in the 1700 block of Malvern Street was throwing food at him Sept. 2 and that some of it hit him in the head, violating a no-contact order. The younger man had called the police on the neighbor days prior, and in both instances, officers were unable to contact the older man. Police told the younger man that the no-contact order had expired; nonetheless, they also said the older man would be mailed a citation for misdemeanor assault.
