Free drop-off recycling options offered around Dakota County

Get rid of your pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns the right way after the Halloween season. Pumpkins are treated as yard waste even though they are often considered food. Besides tossing them in a home compost bin, you can also put them in your yard waste cart, drop them off at several upcoming free collection events in Dakota County or deliver them to your local yard waste site.

Remove candles, wax and any non-pumpkin materials before disposal. No painted or glittered pumpkins can be accepted; those must be placed in the garbage.
