West St. Paul Secret Holiday Shop

Calling children of all ages: join West St. Paul for the fifth annual Secret Holiday Shop, where kids use tickets to buy gifts for loved ones. On Dec. 8 from 9 to 11 a.m., at Dakota Lodge in Thompson Park, 1200 Stassen Lane, kids can find gifts including jewelry, coffee mugs, home accents, children’s toys and more. Adults will enjoy refreshments while kids shop in the “No Parent Zone.” There will be other adults there to help kids shop, wrap and label all gifts. Gifts range from 50 cents to $12. Gift drive

The Mendota Heights Police Department has partnered with A Place of Hope, to ensure Twin City Metro families can give presents to their children, up to age 18. While the department encourages gift donations for all ages, the 2018 focus is teen gifts. Donations of unwrapped gifts will be accepted at the department, 1101 Victoria Curve, through Dec. 10. Holiday social

Friends of LeDuc and Historic Hastings will hold its Annual Holiday Social on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN. The evening will open with a brief meeting of the membership, which will be followed by a musical program performed vocally and instrumentally by Julia and Linnea Ronning, They will present famous English holiday songs. Following the program there will be a social time in the LeDuc dining room. Members are asked to bring an appetizer or dessert to share. This meeting is free and open to the public.
