Fourth District playoff update

The Tri-City Red and North St. Paul American Legion baseball teams shared the regular-season Fourth District title and were ranked in the top 10 in this week's state poll. So it shouldn't be that much of a surprise that they are the last two teams without a loss in the district playoffs.

The Roseville East American Legion baseball team doubled its Fourth District victory total by winning its playoff opener on Monday night at Midway Stadium. The Ramblers won a slugfest 10-9 over Hamline Red to advance to the double-elimination portion of the district tournament.

With its 5-1 victory over Mounds View on Thursday at Midway Stadium, the Roseville Area High School baseball team has knocked off two of the top three seeds in Section 4AAA. The Raiders get their shot at the top seed on Saturday.
