District 622 operating levy fails, along with technology levy

Across the state, voters approved at least one operating levy request in 47 districts on Election Day, for a passage rate of 90 percent.

As election officials tallied up votes for the two open Maplewood City Council seats, Tou Xiong, 25, and his supports tracked the results at Stargate Nightclub, off Rice Street near Larpenteur Avenue. Across town, Bryan Smith, 40, gathered with friends, family and his campaign team at Jake's City Grille.

Three-at-large seats are open for the St. Anthony-New Brighton Independent School District 282 Board, and three candidates are running. Cassandra Palmer, Andrea (Andie) Scamehorn and Michael Volna are up for election. Palmer is the only candidate running who is currently not on the board.
