1996 Time Capsule Open House at Somerset Elementary

Somerset Elementary School in Mendota Heights will host an open house on Saturday, April 30. The school is celebrating 20 years since it buried a Time Capsule in 1996. The community is invited to visit Somerset from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. to view the contents of the recently opened Time Capsule.

A Matter of Balance

Decrease risk of falls with the evidence-based class, “A Matter of Balance.” Feel more confident and more independent in only eight weeks, even if you have fallen before. Participants practice exercises for an hour every third week. This class is $30.

BIRD BANDING DAY

 Cardinals, warblers and chickadees, Oh My! Watch licensed bird banders capture, band and release wild birds to learn about age, populations and migration patterns. If conditions allow, take a short hike to observe birds with binoculars from the floating boardwalk. Bring a camera. Free Drop-in program for adults and families. Jazz in the Great Hall

Atkins to hold town hall meeting

State Rep. Joe Atkins, DFL-Inver Grove Heights, will be holding an upcoming town hall meeting to hear from constituents on the issues important to them and their community. 

The first of several town halls will be on Saturday, April 23, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with Inver Grove Heights Mayor George Tourville. 

The meeting will be held at Inver Glen Library, 8098 Blaine Ave E.
