The 2015 Community POWER grants program, sponsored by the Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board, is looking for non-profit organizations, schools and environmental groups to propose new and innovative ways to educate and actively engage residents to change their purchasing, reusing, and hazardous waste disposal behaviors in order to reduce garbage.

Jalen Gisselquist, North St. Paul, will be a featured performer as the Rat King in Ballet Minnesota’s “The Classic Nutcracker.” The 20-year-old Gisselquist has literally made leaps and bounds during his four short years as a ballet dancer.
