Knights looking for contributions throughout the roster

Replacing departed players will be key for the Irondale/St. Anthony Village boys hockey team this winter. The Knights return just seven letterwinners from last year’s team.
"We lost a lot of scoring to graduation, early departures and one transfer,” said Irondale head coach Adam Schmidt, who is in his third season as the Knights’ head coach. “Therefore, we will need the returning players to step up a bit and the young players to contribute immediately if we are going to be successful.”

RAHS girls hockey off to fast start

A go-to scorer has been a trademark of the Roseville Area High School girls hockey program over the years. That could be a bit different this season, however.
Roseville’s go-to player on the offense the last couple of years was Kate Flug but she graduated last spring and is now playing in college. Head coach Vic Brodt expects the scoring burden to be spread out to a larger number of players.

Girls hockey season starts up this week

The calendar might say it’s still autumn but the high school winter sports season has started. One Bulletin-area girls hockey team opened its season last weekend and the other two start things off this week.
This is a big season for all three teams. Two of them are out to prove that the success they enjoyed last year wasn’t a fluke and the third is playing under a new coach.
