The three Review-area boys tennis teams opened up the post-season last week but, unfortunately, their playoff runs were short-lived. All three fell in the first round of the Section 4AA team tournament on May 17.
Jake Kubiatowicz entered the discus competition at the Hamline Elite Meet on April 29 as the top seed and went out and proved it. Kubiatowicz, a junior at North High School, won the event by nearly six feet.
Since losing to Hastings in the second week of the season, the North High School fastpitch softball team had been trying to keep pace with the Raiders in order to make their second meeting of the season worth something.

Hill-Murray’s baseball team played in the only Metro East Conference game of the day on May 5. The Pioneers, who visited Simley that day, needed a victory over the Spartans to keep pace with Mahtomedi in the conference standings.

All three Review area high school fastpitch softball teams found themselves in the upper half of the conference standings late last week. They were still looking up at one other team, however.
