There was a gathering at Hill-Murray High School in mid-May for an official ground-breaking ceremony for the school’s new stadium. At the time, there were numerous construction vehicles hauling and moving dirt.
Two former Hill-Murray High School hockey players were selected in the National Hockey League entry draft earlier this summer. When the draft rolls around again in 2017, there’s a good chance more Pioneers will hear their names called.
Lower-seeded teams pulling off upsets was a big story in the Sub-State 7 American Legion baseball tournament and Oakdale led the charge. The Mavericks were seeded ninth and four times beat a higher-seeded opponent.
