North Polars calm Mahtomedi Zephyrs for crucial Metro East win

Lauzon hurls 7-inning, 2-hit shutout
Before a standing-room-only crowd at Kuenkel Field, the North High Polars battled with baseball powerhouse Mahtomedi on Wednesday, May 13.
The game had special significance because of the Metro East Conference standings. Heading into the game North was 12-2 in the MEC, while Mahtomedi had a mark of 13-1.
Both teams had one MEC game remaining on their schedules.

The North High baseball team has been a juggernaut in the Metro East Conference this spring, and that was never more true than when the Polars faced the Tartan Titans Friday, May 15.

Hill-Murray's fielding errors, stranded runners contribute to loss

The St. Thomas Academy baseball team pounded out nine hits and took advantage of five Hill-Murray errors and two hit batters, for a shutout win, 6-0, on Monday, May 14.
The Metro East Conference game took place at Hill-Murray in Maplewood on a perfect afternoon for a baseball game.
