Rep. Jason Isaacson announces MN Senate run

Sen. Bev Scalze, DFL-Little Canada, announced Dec. 9 that she will not seek reelection to the state Senate for District 42 in 2016.
“I am looking forward to having more time to spend with my family, especially my two granddaughters who live in Florida,” Scalze said in a statement. “I am also eager to focus more time and energy on my wildlife art.”

Highways 280 and 36 slated for work next year

As the metro ponders whether it will see a white Christmas this year, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds everyone that it's never too soon to start thinking about next year's construction season.
MnDOT announced Dec. 3 a project that will resurface the north end of State Highway 280 in St. Paul, Lauderdale and Roseville that will also rebuild the exit from northbound 280 to northbound Interstate 35W.
The project is slated to happen over six or so weeks, May through July, 2016, according to MnDOT's project website.
