Ramsey County video explores food shelves' move to fresh produce
Depicting the challenges and success stories of food shelves, shelters and the like, a new video produced by the Ramsey County Public Health Department highlights recent trends in supplying food for county residents who need it most.
Airing throughout the holiday season on Twin Cities Public Television, the video emphasizes a recent trend towards providing fresh produce and whole-grain foods for people using food shelves and pantries, and eating at shelters.
The next meeting of the Ramsey County Library Board is Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m., at the Ramsey County Library in Shoreview, 4570 North Victoria Street All meetings of the Library Board are open to the public.
DFL candidates are already lining up well ahead of their party's April endorsing convention in state Senate District 41.
The races for the Senate seat and House Districts 41-A and 41-B got underway shortly after state Sen. Barb Goodwin of Columbia Heights announced Nov. 12 that she will not be running for re-election to retain her position in the Legislature next year.
The 66-year-old Goodwin, who has served in the Senate since 2010, and in the House before that from 2000 to 2006, said she plans to retire.
