For many, the week between Christmas and New Year's Day means returning to work, returning unwanted gifts or maybe returning to that diet that got away from them for a few days around the winter holidays.
After suffering through a number of years with low numbers, the North High School wrestling program came up with a plan to boost those numbers. The results of that plan should begin to show up this season.

North/Tartan beats Hudson, 3-1
The Hill-Murray High School girls hockey team has won the past two Class AA state championships and it's not hard to imagine the Pioneers making it three in a row come late February. Hill-Murray was unbeaten through its first eight games and had given up only five goals in that stretch.
Among the most impressive of the Pioneers' early victories thus far was their 2-0 blanking of Edina on Dec. 9 at Aldrich Arena. Hill-Murray has been the top-ranked team in the state in Class AA all season and Edina entered the game ranked third.
After losing 16 seniors from the 2013-2014 team, last year’s Mounds View High School boys swimming and diving team experienced significant growing pains on the way to an 0-8 finish in the very competitive Suburban East Conference.
