A presentation on the proposed budget adjustments and changes to the fiscal 2015 general and food service fund budgets was given with an opportunity for public comments. A motion carried to approve the consent agenda including minutes, personnel recommendations and probationary releases. A motion carried by the School Board of Independent School District 197 that it supports a focus on being able to calculate and monitor the academic return on investment of time and resources. District 197 will allocate budget to cover the cost to purchase an analytic tool, Performance Matters, starting in FY 2015 to assist in the collection and reporting of student assessment data to aid in calculating return on investment. District 197 authorizes administration to begin the planning process to enable implementation by August 2014. A motion carried to approve the 10 cent lunch price increase in the Food Service Fund. A work session followed. Discussion included: parking on Warrior Dr., referendum outcome, Teacher Development and Evaluation Plan (TDE) and an EMID report. The meeting was called to order at 5:15 PM. The meeting was held at Dakota County Technical College, 1300 145th Street East, Rosemount, MN. Board members present: Dick Bergstrom, Dan Cater, Deb Clark, Bob Erickson, Tom Ryerson, Jill Lewis, Ron Hill (arrived at 5:44 PM), Vanda Pressnall, Melissa Sauser, and administrators were present. Absent: none. Good news reports were presented. The following Consent Agenda items were approved: minutes, personnel, bills to be paid, and donations. Recommended actions approved: Resolution Placing Staff on Unrequested Leave of Absence (full copy available in the Superintendent’s Office), Policy 456 – Substitute Instructor Pay Schedule; 2014-2015 ISD 917 Budget; Resolution Pertaining to the Termination of Employment of Support Service Employees (full copy available in the Superintendent’s Office); Superintendent’s Evaluation and incentive for 2013-2014; Superintendent’s Salary increase and contract modifications for 2012- 2015 contract; Resolution approving 917’s Health and Safety Program Budget; Lease Levy; Safe Schools Levy; and Educator Development Evaluation Process.
