NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of Maplewood, Minnesota, will meet in the council chambers of the Maplewood Municipal Building, 1830 County Road B East, Maplewood, Minnesota at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 to hear all persons concerning the adoption of the assessment roll for Public Improvement Project 12-09, Arkwright-Sunrise Area Improvements and to adopt the assessment roll as presented or amended. The council may also defer any homestead underdeveloped or undeveloped properties for which it would be a financial hardship to pay the assessment. The procedures for applying for such deferment are available from the office of the city engineer. The following information shall also apply: 1. The property owner shall have the right to prepay the entire assessment. Your assessment may be paid without interest from March 25, 2014 through April 23, 2014 to the City of Maplewood at the Department of Public Works, 1902 County Road B East, Maplewood, Minnesota. 2. Partial prepayment of the assessment has been authorized by ordinance. Partial payment, if made, should be a minimum of 25% of the levied assessment amount. 3. The rate of interest to be accrued, if the assessment is not prepaid within the required time period, is proposed to be 4.60% commencing on the date of adoption by the city council and running for 8 calendar years for commercial properties and 15 calendar years for residential properties. 4. The amount to be specially assessed against your property is shown on the attached public improvement Statement of Assessment.
