Tartan, the number two ranked team in Section 3AAA, went up against perennial nemesis and number three-ranked Eagan in semi-final volleyball action, Nov. 1 at South St. Paul.

Going into the contest, the Titans had limited success against the Wildcats.

Tartan destroys Cretin-Derham for tournament berth

The Tartan volleyball team spent Nov. 3 with very mixed emotions. The Titans had come from a funeral for departed classmate Aaron Fowler and, with saddened hearts, entered South St. Paul for the finals of the Section 3AAA volleyball tournament.

County appoints Lake Elmo, Afton residents to watershed board.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners appointed Lake Elmo resident Dave Bucheck and Afton resident Don Scheel to the Valley Branch Watershed District Board of Directors. Both will serve three-year terms.

Sheriff’s office, Oak-Land Junior High School hire school resource deputy

The Washington County Board of Commissioners accepted a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice in conjunction with Oak-Land Junior High to hire a full-time School Resource Deputy to be stationed at the Lake Elmo-based school. The grant comes through the federal COPS in Schools Program.
