Greg Foote and his colleagues at Greg Foote Jewelers have seen it all — wedding rings recovered from the garbage disposal, family heirloom jewelry in desperate need of repair, watches that have stopped tracking time and more.

Whatever the request, they're able to restore just about any piece on-site, ensuring their customers' valued items never leave the safety of the store.

"You're talking directly to us," Foote says. "We're not shipping things out. Most everything stays on the premises."

With more than 35 years of experience in the jewelry sales and repair business, owner Foote, along with the help of graduate gemologist Jean Hoerth and customer service specialist Shelley Roeske, is able to offer personal jewelry service.

"Everyone has gifts, and ours is working with our hands and creating things," Hoerth says.

Greg Foote Jewelers specializes in watch repairs, jewelry repairs, and pearl and bead restringing. With the recent addition of a laser welder to their workshop, Foote and Hoerth are able to tackle more delicate repairs, including stones that are vulnerable to heat and the settings of enamel pieces.

"Our goal is to get it looking brand new," Foote says.

Those looking to update the value of their pieces can also get an expert appraisal. Foote keeps a computer file as well as a paper copy of each appraisal, which includes photos, in his studio. These records assure pieces are accurately valued for an estate or an insurance replacement.

Greg Foote Jewelers also offers a wide selection of jewelry in the showroom, where customers can shop for engagement rings, anniversary gifts, earrings, pendants, bracelets and designer watches.

The studio carries items from the Peter James, Michael Couch, Allison-Kaufman, Benchmark collections, along with Seiko watches for both men and women.

"I think it's nice to carry a well-rounded inventory, something for everybody," Foote says, noting he's happy to provide consultations for customized orders as well.

Whatever the occasion — shopping for an anniversary gift, updating a family heirloom or restoring a damaged piece — Foote knows the key to good business is building lasting customer relationships.

"That's what we rely on — people who have been satisfied telling other people," Foote says.
