A lot has changed since Sister Annette Relf founded the original Episcopal Church Home in 1894.

“Sister Annette’s mission to provide safe, dignified homes for seniors and support their physical, social, and spiritual needs has remained unchanged,” says Deb Veit, Director of Community Relations, “but our definition of Sister Annette’s mission has grown in scope and scale.”

Episcopal Homes’ mission has grown to include the entire continuum of senior homes and services: Long-Term Care, Short-Term Rehab, Assisted Living, Catered Living, Independent Living, and Home Care.

“We set the stage for all of our residents to fully embrace life,” says Veit, “and people don’t have to be Episcopalian to live here. In fact, most of our residents aren’t.”

Midway Village Rising

When Midway Village is completed later this year, it will add three new residences to Episcopal Homes’ Midway campus: The Terrace at Iris Park (Catered Living), Episcopal Church Home - The Gardens (Skilled Nursing and Memory Care), and Midway Pointe (Affordable Independent Living). “Midway Village will grow the number of residents our home campus serves by 60%,” says Marvin J. Plakut, Episcopal Homes President and CEO. “The demand for what we do is so great that all three residences should be fully occupied when they open.”

“The idea behind The Terrace at Iris Park is for residents to be able to stay in their homes for the rest of their lives,” says Veit. “We will help preserve and enhance their independence by catering to their needs as they change.”

The Terrace will offer 58 one and two-bedroom apartments. It will open this fall on November 1st with the Green Line at the door.

Fewer than 10 apartments remain.

Minnesota’s First

Episcopal Church Home - The Gardens will be the first Skilled Nursing and Memory Care residence in Minnesota built around the nationally acclaimed GREEN HOUSE® Model of Care.

Imagine your loved one living in a 10-person home and enjoying four times more personal attention
than in conventional nursing homes! For the whole story, visit www.theGreenHouseProject.org.

The third residence in Midway Village will be Midway Pointe. There are already over 250 people on the waiting list for its 50 afford- able one-bedroom apartments.

“Many people actually become more active when they move here,” concludes Veit. “Freedom from home maintenance chores opens up time for them to focus on the things they love, and they do!”

The Green Line will be at the door when Midway Village opens, and that will give residents even more freedom. It will be an exciting place to call HOME.
