The Roseville Area School District has named three finalists for the soon-to-be vacant superintendent position, including two of its own staff.

Roseville Area High School principal Dr. Jenny Loeck, ISD 623 assistant superintendent Peter Olson-Skog and Robbinsdale School District superintendent Dr. Aldo Sicoli were named the finalists after the school board conducted the first round of interviews on Saturday, April 18.

The finalists will participate in all-day interviews with staff and students on April 27, 28 and 29. At 6 p.m. on each of the three days, the community is invited to take part in interviewing the candidates at the RAHS media center. RAHS is located at 1240 County Road B2 West.

The district will release an interview schedule as the dates approach.

The school board anticipates making a final decision April 29, and after contract negotiations will make the hire official at its May 12 meeting.

A total of six semi-finalists were named. The semi-finalists who did not advance to the next round of interviews were St. Paul School District assistant superintendents Dr. Efe Agbamu and Andrew Collins, as well as Mahtomedi superintendent Dr. Mark Larson.

Current superintendent Dr. John Thein will retire July 31. The new superintendent will take over Aug. 1.
