Farewell reception for retiring North St. Paul mayor

The City of North St. Paul hosts a farewell reception for outgoing Mayor Mike Kuehn at North St. Paul City Hall starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec 5. Mayor Kuehn did not seek reelection and will be leaving the City at the end of the year. Kuehn has decided to retire after a generation of public service to the City of North St. Paul. Kuehn was Mayor for 11 years and served as a City Council member for 17 years. The public is invited. North St. Paul City Hall is located at 2400 Margaret St in North St. Paul. LifePoint Church Christmas Hope event

LifePoint Church hosts Christmas Hope 2018 Wednesday, Dec 12 starting at 5 p.m. Guardians choose a toy for children ages 0-16, choose winter gear like hats, gloves and socks for children, and enjoy live music, food and shopping. Stem Saturday: Light and Kaleidoscopes: Oakdale Library hosts this event stating at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. During ìLight and Kaleidoscopesî at Oakdale Library you will experiment with how light travels, changes direction, and is refracted. You will also build and engineer a colorful kaleidoscope to take home with you. This event is hosted by The Works Museum and designed for ages 7-10 and their caregivers. Registration required. Smart Travel: Disney with Families starts at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec 2. Are you planning a trip to Disney? Come and learn travel tips and tricks for families to make your trip to the Magic Kingdom truly magical. Harry Potter escape room: An all ages Harry Potter escape room starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec 8. Our popular Harry Potter Escape Room is back at Oakdale Library, and this time it’s open to all ages. Put what you learned at Hogwarts to the test. You and your team will have 30 minutes to escape from a crazy professor’s office before it’s too late. You’ll need your puzzle-solving skills, a couple of friends, and a bit of magic to get out. Please call the Oakdale Library at 651-730-0504 to register for a time slot. Time slots are available between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Groups of four are ideal. Maximum group size is six. Although the Escape Room is open to all ages, the puzzles are intended for an older audience. Adult participation is recommended for children under 11.

Art for Teens: Safety pins wrist cuffs starts at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec 14. Use beads, safety pins, and elastic to create your own unique wrist cuff/bracelet at Oakdale Library. Game On: A Game Night for Adults starts at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec 20. Come play tabletop games with fellow game enthusiasts! The Oakdale Library will provide games ranging from Uno and Connect Four to Splendor and Carcassonne, or you can bring your own to share.
