Arden Hills/Shoreview Lions Club holdng ‘Kids First’ gala

The Arden Hills/Shoreview Lions Club is holding its “Kids First” gala on Friday, April 26, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Shoreview Community Center, 4850 Victoria Ave.

“Our club is so excited that the first community-wide event we are sponsoring is a fun-filled gala with all of the proceeds going to programs for kids,” said club President Judy Zewers of Shoreview. “We have been supporting and providing services with community partners since our start-up in October 2017, but this will be our first independent event.”

Proceeds from “Kids First” will go to the Lions’ pre-school vision screening program, KidSight; the Ronald McDonald House organization supporting families experiencing pediatric cancer; Shoreview Library literacy and reading promotion efforts for kids; Mounds View Schools; and the Kids in Need Foundation which provides school supplies to children from families in need.

The evening features delicious appetizers/small plates and a cash bar. There will be a silent auction and many games and raffles with fabulous prizes. There will be musical entertainment as well and lots of opportunity to socialize.

You can register online to attend at Eventbrite and tickets are available from Lions Club members for $25 each, by cash or check; $28.16 with a credit card online. There will be no ticket sales at the door.

The Shoreview/Arden Hills Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, which is the world’s largest service organization with more than 1.4 million members in over 200 countries. Lions work first to improve their immediate communities and then to help fund global humanitarian projects.
