The MidWestOne Foundation provides financial support for the arts, education, wellness, recreation and civic services. In 2016, the MidWestOne Foundation made a $50,000 donation to Cesar Chavez School to create a new media center and playground for its students.

“We try to base everything we do around community, even down to our vendors,” explains Engfer. “We try to keep everything local -- even down to the coffee that we serve to customers.”

Though MidWestOne still operates by the same founding principles going back to its charter in 1934, they strive to be a leader in digital banking and are continually pursuing innovations and new technologies that make banking faster, easier and more secure. 

“Banking as a whole is changing,” Engfer explains. “Everything uses technology now. People no longer have to wait in line at the bank to deposit a check or transfer money – everything can be done on a tablet or mobile phone.”
