Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Gaming Tournament: This event is Thursday, June 6, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Celebrate the last day of school by competing with your friends
at Oakdale Library’s Nintendo Switch Gaming Tournament. Show off your skills in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for a chance to win
a match. Space is limited to 16 participants, but spectators are welcome. The event is for ages 11 to 18. Registration is

Summer Adventure Kickoff Party: This event is Saturday, June 8, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Kick off the library’s Summer Adventure Program with games
and activities, refreshments, a professional balloon artist and more. Pick up your Summer Adventure Program materials
(for children, teens, and adults) and have a blast completing the activities all summer long. No registration is required. All
ages are welcome.

A Very Eric Carle Celebration: This event is Tuesday, June 11, from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Eric Carle’s classic children’s book, “The Very Hungry
Caterpillar,” turns 50 this year. This very special storytime celebrates the author and his works with stories, songs,
rhymes, and a craft. Registration is recommended. All ages are welcome. Register online at www.WashCoLib.org/Events, at the

T(w)een Thursdays: DIY Pop Sockets: This event is Thursday, June 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Teens and almost-teens, come to the Oakdale Library every
Thursday this summer to curb your boredom and hang out with friends. A new activity each week, plus Nintendo Switch
and computer gaming will be featured. Bring friends or make new ones. The event is for ages 10 and up. No
registration is required.

Lake Elmo Library events

STEM Saturdays - Cock-a-Doodle Zoo: This event is Saturday, June 8 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Kick off Summer at Your Library with Cock-a-Doodle Zoo at Lake
Elmo Library. This traveling wildlife petting zoo will include hands-on learning with animals like the kangaroo, porcupine,
alligator, tortoise, cavy, lemur, skunk, alpaca, kinkajou and others. No registration is required.
Let’s Make Stuff - Metal Stamping: This event is Tuesday, June 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At Let’s Make Stuff at Lake Elmo Library, make your
own custom charms, pendants, key tags and more. Participants be stamping words or phrases to give your handcrafted metal
designs a personal touch. All materials will be provided. Class size is limited, so registration is required. Register online at

Circus Manduhai: This event is Wednesday, June 12 from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Stop by Lake Elmo Library to see Circus Manduhai. This Mongolian family circus features acrobatics, juggling, balancing, hula hoops and more. This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. No registration is required.

Service Dog Demonstration from Paw Pads: This event is Tuesday, June 18 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Pawsitive Perspectives Assistance Dogs (PawPADs) is a nonprofit
service dog training organization out of Lakeville that dual trains dogs to work with individuals with physical disabilities or Type 1 Diabetes. For the presentation at Lake Elmo Library, participants will discuss the importance of service dogs as well as how
to react when you see a service dog in public. The ambassador dog, Tory, will also be joining to show some of the
tasks dogs learn to assist their future partner. No registration is required.

Author Talk- Allen Eskens: This event is Tuesday, June 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Allen Eskens is the bestselling author of “The Life We Bury,”
“The Guise of Another,” “The Heavens May Fall,” “The Deep Dark Descending,” and “The Shadows We Hide.” He is the recipient of numerous awards and his books have been translated into 21 languages and his novel, “The Life We Bury” is  in development for a feature film. This program is sponsored by The Friends of Lake Elmo Library. No registration is required.

Jason Huneke’s Juggling Show: This event is Wednesday, June 19 from 3 to 4 p.m. Jason Huneke’s Magic Show is a fun, fast paced comedy juggling show for kids of all ages. This program at Lake Elmo Library is packed with juggling, balancing, unicycling and a top hat manipulation routine. You will be entertained and engaged throughout the entire show. No registration is required.

Oakdale Support Group for Families

National Alliance on Mental Illness Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living
with a mental illness in Oakdale on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, starting at 6 p.m., at Canvas Health in
the community room. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups
help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. Canvas Health is located at
7066 Stillwater Blvd in Oakdale. For information call at 651-341-8918.

 

North St. Paul 50 year reunion

Hail Polars. North St. Paul Class of 1969’s 50 Year Reunion is Aug. 22 starting at 6:30 p.m.  It will be at Mermaid

Tartan class of 1979 reunion

The Tartan High School Class of 1979 is having its 40th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to
11:30 p.m. at Doubletree by Hilton St. Paul East. Cost is $20 if paid by Aug. 15 or $30 at the door. Appetizers are
included. There will be a cash bar. For details and payments see the Tartan Class of 1979 Facebook group. Doubletree by

Landscape Revival - Native Plant Expo & Market 

The City of Oakdale is holding a Landscape Revival event on Saturday, June 8,
